From beer that’s “Good for you”, world records, to the famous Toucan: Meet Guinness Advertising.

I’ve always wondered, as I’m sure many others, how do big world renown companies start from the bottom and work their way up to such a highly successful industry? Come to find out in 1759, Guinness, learned the way. This past August, on my wonderful trip to Ireland we just HAD to stop by the Guinness Factory, where here, they had a “World of Advertising” floor I just thought was quite intriguing and worth the share, as a marketer.

Guinness, which most people know this popular and unique beer brand, was founded in 1759! For 170 years relying on word of mouth, Guinness did NO marketing, not until 1929, with the condition as simple of keeping the quality of advertising the same as their beer. It wasn’t until then, they decided on their slogan, “ Guinness is Good for You.” This one huge decision, led them to eras of creative storytelling and fostering a brand that caught the attention of so many.
